About the Artist

Nancee Daniels, Artist:

I was given the name Fancee Nancee back in college -- fitting for someone who has always found joy in creativity, color, and design.  My artistic journey began at just 9 years old in Little Rock, Arkansas, where I took oil painting lessons from a sweet woman named Peggy.  From those early lessons, I discovered not just a hobby but a passion that would stay with me for life.

I earned my bachelor's degree in Commercial Graphics, but in the pursuit of stability, I also became certified to teach and spent the next 31 years in education.  For 26 of those years, I taught high school math. Then, a graphic arts teaching position opened up, and I spent the last five years teaching graphic arts and running an in-school screen printing business.

A life altering loss changed everything.  When my sister and best friend passed away from cancer, I was shaken awake by the reality that life is short and precious. It was then I made the decision to retire and take the leap into building a creative business -- at age 55!  It was risky, but felt right.

Alongside my teaching career, I started painting about 15 years ago as a way to earn extra money as a single mom of two.  I leaned on the foundational skills as a child, paired them with my graphic design training, and began accepting commissioned art.  Since then, I've painted over 1,000 custom pieces--including for MLB player Dee Gordon, NBA player Shane Larkin, and National Baseball Hall of Famer Barry Larkin.

Today, Fancee Nancee Designs is the heart of my "artistic rebirth".  I offer prints from some of my favorite pieces, original art, along with a Signature Collection that reflects everything I love--character, charm, craftsmenship, and creativity!  These one-of-a kind works feature hand-embellished prints nestled into repurposed vintage frames that I personally refurbish and tailor to complement each piece.  Every framed design is unique.

Fancee Nancee Designs is more than just art.  It's a "second act", a tribute, and an encouragement to others of choosing their passion to make each day count.  In addition to Fancee Nancee Designs, I've opened a "sister company", GOLDEN TOUCH GIFTS.  This is a family collaboration of my artwork, my mom's inspirational writings, and my late sister's incomparable creative insight to offer 'gifts with meaning'.  Check it out at goldentouchgifts.org.   Your "follow" would be appreciated on facebook and instagram for both @fanceenanceedesigns  and  @goldentouchgifts
